Jakarta History Museum

The museum, located in what was the stadhuis or Batavia city hall, allows visitors to trace the history of Jakarta. Having been used for several different function, the building was finally established as the Jakarta history museum on 30 March 1974. The museum boats a total of 500 collection dating to back Batavia period: including the story of Jan Pieterszoon Coen, the famous jagur cannon, a room where prince Diponogoro was once detained, and a fountain in the center of Fatahillah Park, which, at the time served as the only water source for the Batavia area.

Museum Geologi

Officially opened on 16 May 1929, the museum, which was once o laboratory, holds various stones, minerals, meteorites, fossils, and other artifacts collected since the 1850s.
Its prominent collection includes a homo erectus fossil, the ancient elephant Stegodon trigonocephalus, and a replica of the largest and the fiercest carnivorous dinosaur, Tyrannosaur rex. Visitors can also learn how the earth was formed, how live developed, as well as Indonesia’s geological phenomena and their relation to human life. Furthermore, the museum also performs various exhibitions, trainings and researches.

Museum Nasional

Founded in 1778 as the oldest and the biggest museum has been preserving Indonesia cultural heritage for two centuries. It boasts over 141,000 items from various places in Indonesia and its neighboring countries.
Among the collection are artifacts from the prehistoric era and cultural exhibits accompanied by their historical description. One of them is a necklace decorated with two diamond stones bearing a motif of two intertwined dragons, which symbolizes fertility, other featured items of the collection include ceramics, numismatics heraldry, archeology, geography and ethnography.

House Of Sampoerna

Situated in “Old Surabaya”, this stately Dutch colonial-style compound was build in 1862 and is now a preserved historical site. Previously used as an orphanage managed by the Dutch, it was purchased in 1932 by Liem SeengTee, the founder of sampoerna.
The museum offers a truly unique experience. From the story of the foundling family to closely watching a real hand-roll production facility and ending up with an unforgettable experience of rolling kretek cigarette using traditional equipment. You can join the 3,000 women in this plant, who can roll more than 325 sticks per hours.

Rainy Season

Indonesia has two season, wet season and dry season. In wet season, it rains a lot, that’s way we call it rainy season. The rainy season is from October to April. Rivers are often flooded.
In rainy season it becomes cold. Some people find the scenary dull during this season. The same as in the dry season, people need heavy and light clothes, but raincoats and umbrellas are needed more.
The farmers can get good crops; abundant fruit and vegetables. The get good harvest. They know that there are many rivers, streams or books. Rainy season can make people live happily but they can also suffer bad problems.
People are interested in the weather change, but they do not usually talk about the weather when they meet. They like about their own families.
